Show Me Your Soul
"Show Me Your Soul" is a song by the funk rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers that was originally written and recorded in for the band's 1989 album Mother's Milk although it was left off the album. "Show Me Your Soul" first appeared on the "Knock Me Down" and "Taste the Pain" singles as a B-side, and was more famously included on the soundtrack of the film Pretty Woman. A promo only single was released to promote the soundtrack. This peaked at number ten on the Modern Rock Tracks chart.[1] The track was later included as the sole exclusive track on the 1992 compilation album What Hits!?. For some reason this song was not included on the Mother's Milk reissue, despite being a popular track from the time period. Thus there is currently not a remastered version of the track.
There was a video made for the song, which features the band in front of a Bluescreen, and is very similar in style to the music video for "Higher Ground". This appears on the What Hits!? DVD.
The song has never been performed live although in March 1990, the band performed on a CBS special titled, "Save The Planet" where they did a lip-synched performance of the song.
